Uluru is a sandstone mountain in kata tjuta national park in the Australian desert.The mountain sacred to the Anangu, aborginal people who lived in area for 40,000 years.It is said that a piece of rock taken from uluru as souvenir will bring its owner bad luck.The first European people discovered uluru in 1900s.they called it ayers rock. uluru measures 5 1/2 miles all the way around the base.
